Case Worker - Specialist Homelessness Service
The Opportunity:
The Case Worker will work as part of the Samaritans Specialist Homelessness Support service across the Lower Hunter and Newcastle regions. The role will work with a diverse group of young people (ages 12-24) who require different levels of supports and who may be at different stages in their journeys towards securing safe, and ongoing housing stability. The Case Worker will also be responsible for supporting intake, the assessment of young people’s needs, the establishment of individual plans with them and the referral/implementation of other wrap around services that the young person may require. The role will predominately require outreach casework, however will require staff to support the crisis youth accommodation services as well as provide programs to young people to help prevent homelessness and support the sustaining of tenancies.
