The RoleThe Property/Housing Officer will provide a pivotal service within Samaritans Youth Homelessness Services across the Lower Hunter and Newcastle regions. The role will develop and maintain relationships with housing providers and private real estate businesses. The EssentialsPrevious property management experienceHighly developed understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and rights and responsibilities within itAbility to maintain and model professional boundariesExperience in running evidence based programs in relation to tenancy and living skillsExperience in employing strengths-based practice and trauma informed practiceUnderstanding of Rapid RehousingUnderstanding of and commitment to the principles and legislative requirements of child protections, WH&S, cultural diversity, EEO and ethical practiceA solid understanding of housing products and group work programs as they relate to housing for young people The successful applicant will also possess or willingness to obtain the following; NSW Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, first aid and CPR Certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
