In addition, Case Managers are required to proactively engage and work with birth families to facilitate restoration for birth families and children/young people in care. This will be achieved through regular birth family and carer contact, remaining non-judgemental and empathetic and providing enhanced strategies for positive parenting. The Permanency Program operates across Newcastle, Central Coast, Upper and Lower Hunter and Western NSW regions.About You:The successful candidate will ideally have - Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Welfare, Psychology, Education or any other relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant transferrable experienceSound professional knowledge and theory base particularly in the areas of trauma, attachment and therapeutic care.Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care environment and the legislation that governs case management practice in this area.Demonstrated experience in facilitating coaching and training.Demonstrated experience in undertaking assessments.Proven assessment writing skillsExceptional organisational and administration skills to adhere to deadlines while working under pressure.Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work effectively with a wide range of diverse people and stakeholders.A non-judgemental and strength-based approach to engaging and working with children and young people, their carers and families.Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability; including records of children and young people, their carers and families and team discussions.The successful applicant will also possess or have willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, Criminal history check, Driver's License, first aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.Why Work for us? Our teams are the heart of what we do here at Newcastle Anglican.
