Samaritans Youth Services, part of Newcastle Anglican, walks alongside young people facing crisis, homelessness and disadvantage. We’re expanding our passionate team and looking for committed, energetic Youth Workers who believe in the potential of every young person.

What You’ll Do
Every shift is different â but your impact is constant. You will:
- Support young people navigating crisis, homelessness or complex challenges
- Build trust and deliver personâcentred, traumaâinformed care
- Advocate fiercely so young people can access housing, Centrelink, health services and education
- Maintain accurate, timely records and support key applications
- Promote the safety, rights and wellbeing of every young person
- Run group programs, house meetings and contribute to safety and support plans
- Work collaboratively with families, caseworkers and service partners
- Be part of a cohesive team that shows up for each other
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work â or significant relevant experience
- A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Communication skills that build rapport, reduce conflict and offer real support
- Resilience, empathy and the ability to stay grounded in challenging situations
- A commitment to cultural safety and reconciliation
- The ability to work independently and as part of a passionate team
Requirements (or willingness to obtain)
- NSW Working With Children Check
- National Criminal History Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Driver Licence
- Preâemployment functional medical
