The Opportunity:
The Manager, Property Operations provides leadership, oversight and operational direction for Newcastle Anglican’s housing and real estate functions, ensuring the effective delivery of team outcomes across property management, retirement living coordination and ILU sales. The position is responsible for leading and supporting direct reports, strengthening processes and systems, overseeing compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, and ensuring the housing and property portfolio is managed in a coordinated, risk-aware and service-focused manner.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of operational outcomes across general real estate, community housing, retirement living and independent living unit sales, ensuring agreed service standards, timelines and performance expectations are met.
- Establish, monitor and report on team deliverables, workflows and performance measures to ensure effective coordination of property management, leasing, sales, retirement living and housing activities.
- Provide oversight of compliance activities, audits, registers, reporting schedules and risk controls across the housing and real estate portfolio, ensuring actions are completed within required timeframes.
- Lead the implementation of strategic and operational property plans for Samaritans Housing, Samaritans rental properties, Anglican Care independent living units and other relevant Newcastle Anglican property portfolios.
- Support parishes and internal stakeholders with property-related planning, leasing, sales, occupancy, tenancy, retirement living and independent living unit matters.
- Provide timely, accurate and well-considered advice, reports and recommendations to the Director Property Services, Executive Leadership Team, Board, Bishop and other key stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and support direct reports through regular supervision, performance conversations, workload planning, capability development and timely resolution of operational issues.
- Monitor emerging risks, sector changes and operational trends across housing, retirement living and property management, recommending improvements to strengthen governance, compliance and service delivery.
About you?
- Tertiary qualifications in Property Management, Real Estate and/or extensive industry experience
- National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
- Australian work rights
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- NDIS Workers Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Current drivers licence
- Experience with Social Housing and/or an understanding of the regulatory issues for Community Housing Providers
- Experience in Retirement Living management and legislative obligations and/or an understanding of the regulatory issues under the Retirement Villages Act.
- Demonstrated experience in a residential and/or commercial property management environment with better than standard knowledge of tenancy management systems and processes.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including the ability to ensure resources are optimally allocated to meet goals and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrated communication skills in the provision of excellent customer service in effectively liaising, consulting, negotiating and resolving issues of conflict with internal and external customers.
