Lead with Purpose at Anglican Care – Director Residential Aged Care

The Opportunity: 

Anglican Care is seeking an experienced and passionate aged care leader to step into the pivotal role of Director Residential Aged Care. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of aged care services across our nine residential facilities located throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast, and the Mid North Coast.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director and working in close collaboration with the Director Clinical Care, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving client satisfaction, enhancing our reputation, and supporting sustainable growth.

In this role, you will be accountable for the operational performance of our residential services – ensuring excellence in care delivery, achievement of clinical and business performance indicators, and empowering a committed team of Residential Care Managers to thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Drive accountability for the financial performance of facilities including effective and efficient management of expenses within approved budgets.
• Promote and drive a culture of service delivery excellence that aims to improve the wellbeing and lifestyle of clients.
• Foster an environment where the teams work actively together to facilitate and promote an optimum client experience in line with our values.
• Liaise with the Clinical Director to monitor SIRS, create Plans for Continuous Improvement, oversee training, education, and coaching, and engage with stakeholders to ensure improvement activities are implemented to maintain regulatory and policy compliance.
• Lead and implement operational plans in line with aged care services strategic and business plans.
• Contribute to the development of long term regional operational business plans ensuring optimal growth opportunities.
• Operationalise frameworks, systems, processes, and projects for the advancement and integration of Residential Aged Care with an emphasis on workforce development, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Provide advice to the Executive Director and Executive Leadership Team on the implications of organisational plans and policies across Residential Aged Care
• Drive accountability and delivery of safe and optimal resource allocation and decision-making for day-to-day resource management.
• Manage the safe and effective handling of critical incidents and complaints and the undertaking of corrective action.
• Undertake regular reporting on services, standards, projects, and programs to ensure customer service and safety is optimised in all areas.
• Prepare and provide relevant documentation and reports to internal and external stakeholders within scope of role for Executive consideration, and where required conduct presentations to a variety of audiences.
• Ensure organisational representation and participation in appropriate forums.
• Implement Clinical Director recommendations to improve quality and ensure regulatory and policy adherence

About you? 

• Tertiary qualifications in relevant area of training or demonstrated experience in that field.
• Related tertiary qualifications in Management and/or demonstrated competencies in that field, with additional competencies including multi-skilling into other streams within the Aged Care environment.
• Registered Nurse with current registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) preferred.
• Demonstrated wealth of knowledge and experience in handling accreditation process, ACQSC evaluations and implementation of action plans to improve clinical indicators and promote superior clinical care.
• Demonstrated management competence in: Leadership; Operational Planning; Organisation Management; Continuous Quality Improvement; Human Resources; Time Management; External Relations; and Service Provision
• Demonstrated comprehensive high-level knowledge of the Health and Aged Care Sectors including funding and policy protocols, accreditation, and industrial legislation.
• Comprehensive experience in coordinating a flexible, multi-skilled team environment with advanced interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
• An understanding of infection control principles.
