The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Behaviour Support Therapist who can lead, supervise and develop a team of behaviour support practitioners. The team provide support to people across Greater Newcastle, Lower Hunter, Lake Macquarie, and Central Coast.
This is a full-time 12 month leave relief role from 5th May 2025

The role and responsibilities:
- Day to day direct supervision of the Behaviour Support Team ensuring effective service delivery.
- Implementation of service delivery in line with strategic and operational goals.
- Engaging with current and potential clients ensuring timely response to feedback and complaints, intake and referral conversion and general client queries.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development, Evidenced Based Practice, and measuring clinical outcomes.
- Assisting with the implementation of organisational systems and processes which support continuous improvement strategies in the business performance of the Behaviour Support service.
- Managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships including the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), government agencies and non-government organisations.
- A clinical caseload and providing a clinically relevant service based on evidence-based practice (as required).
About you?
- Hold relevant degree or extensive training and experience in Positive Behaviour Support
- Meets the requirements of an Advanced or Specialist Practitioner standing according to the NDIS positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner in a lead role
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in the development of behaviour support plans and skills programs.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising behaviour support practitioners to achieve appropriate outcomes, prioritising workloads and managing clients with complex needs
- Demonstrated understanding of WH&S, EEO, confidentiality principles and other relevant legislations pertaining to client groups.
- Valid NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check, willingness to complete a Criminal History Check, First Aid, NDIS Worker Orientation Module, Pre Employment Medical and hold a valid NSW Drivers Licence.
